These are the 30 campaigns shortlisted for the Swiss Out of Home Awards

The submission and judging process for the Swiss Out of Home Awards, sponsored by the Outdoor Advertising Switzerland association (AWS), is complete. It has now been decided which 30 finalists have made it onto the shortlist and can dare to dream of receiving the most important awards in the industry. The winners of the various categories and the Campaign of the Year will remain secret until the grand awards ceremony at the WOOHW! industry event on September 19, 2024.

The expert jury, consisting of 14 individuals from the fields of advertising, culture and design, reviewed and evaluated the 163 entries to the competition. The shortlist of 30 nominated campaigns has now been finalized. These wowed the jury across five categories thanks to the originality of their ideas, novelty, striking application of the advertising messages, communicative sustainability and execution of graphics and design. The shortlist highlights the different clients and areas of application associated with Out of Home Media. The sheer variety on offer ranges from an eye-catching visual concept that invites the sighted to immerse themselves in the sensory world of blind people (“Wir Blinden sehen anders” or “Blind people like us see things differently”) to a vegan condom brand with a memorable slogan (“Für die Wurst. Total vegan.” or “For your sausage. 100% vegan.”), right through to the tongue-in-cheek security footage from a construction company that addresses nocturnal thieves on construction sites as new employees (“Catching Young Talents”), to name just a few.

The sixth category, “Out of Home Innovations”, honors works that rethink Out of Home Media on an international level. None of the submissions met this category’s lofty requirements in 2024.  “That’s why the jury isn’t giving out an innovation award this year,” explains Christian Brändle, jury president and director of the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich.

Award winners to be announced on September 19, 2024
The question of who will ultimately win the gold, silver and bronze awards and who will take the overall prize across all the categories and be crowned the Campaign of the Year is particularly exciting.

The winning works and the creators behind them will be announced at the WOOHW! event in Zurich on September 19, 2024, where they will be honored in front of around 500 invitees.
