Privacy Policy

  1. Introduction

The Association AWS Outdoor Advertising Switzerland (hereinafter "AWS" or "we") is committed to an open and transparent approach to data protection. We comply with data protection legislation and endeavour to handle personal data with care. This privacy policy informs you how we handle personal data.

  1. Personal data

By "personal data" we mean any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. When we talk about "processing" in this data protection declaration, we mean any handling of personal data. This includes, for example:

  • the collection,
  • storage
  • the administration,
  • the use,
  • the transmission,
  • the disclosure or
  • the deletion of personal data.

We only ask for personal data where it is necessary to provide our own services and to process transactions made with the AWS, and where it allows us to provide a better service to partners.

  1. When do we collect personal data?

We collect your personal data whenever there is contact with you, this may be online or in day-to-day, face-to-face contact. For example, we collect your personal data in the following circumstances:
- You are a business partner (associate, supplier);
- You participate in a market research or opinion survey;
- You contact us on special occasions such as general meetings, etc.

  1. What personal data is collected?

The personal data collected is as varied as the circumstances in which we collect the data, for example:

  • Surname and first name
  • Gender
  • Date of birth and age
  • Your address
  • Telephone number
  • E-mail address
  • Marketing data, e.g. needs, wishes, preferences

As far as possible, AWS avoids processing personal data that is sensitive and therefore requires special protection - e.g. concerning your political opinions, religious and philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health, sexual life or racial origin.

  1. Cookies

In order to adapt our internet offer to the user's wishes and to make your surfing experience as comfortable as possible, we use so-called "cookies". A cookie is a small text file that is copied from a website to your hard drive. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. No personal data is stored in the cookies we use.

  1. Consent to cookies / Opt-In

The use of cookies requires your express consent.

  1. Deletion of cookies and surf history

You can opt-out of the use of cookies at any time by deleting the cookies set by AWS Online Services. This is possible via the settings in your internet browser by deleting the cookies or the surfing history. If you decide not to use cookies, some of your settings and preferences cannot be stored, which means that you have to enter them again and again. Similarly, data on your behaviour can only be collected to a limited extent or not at all.

  1. Third party services

We use the services of various service providers and partners (third parties), which means that your data may also be processed by these companies. We require third parties to treat the personal data they receive in accordance with the AWS data protection declaration.  In particular, we use the services of Google Inc. on our websites. We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. as a tracking system. You can find further information on Google Analytics at support.google.com/analytics.

To protect your orders via Internet forms, we use, among other things, the reCAPTCHA service of Google Inc. The query serves to distinguish whether the input is made by a human being or abusively by automated, machine processing. Further information on Google's data protection guidelines can be found at www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

Furthermore, the online services of AWS may contain links to websites of third parties. AWS makes no representation or warranty regarding such websites. It is to be assumed that the owners and operators of such third-party websites may collect, use or disclose personal data under different conditions than AWS. For further information, we recommend that you contact their providers or refer to their privacy policies.

  1. Rights in relation to personal data

You can exercise your data protection rights at any time. You have the right to request information about what data is collected and processed about you. You can demand that it be corrected or deleted.

  1. Data security

We ensure that personal data is protected against unauthorised processing by appropriate technical and organisational measures.

  1. Owner of the data collection

We are legally obliged to inform you of the owner of the data collection containing your personal data. The data controller is AWS.

  1. Passing on of personal data

We do not pass on any personal data to third parties. This is subject to the proviso that the disclosure is required by law or ordered by a court decision.

Data will be retained for as long as is necessary to provide our services or as we are required to do by law.
